Apple has updated the statistics of its App Store support page for the second time since the official unveiling of the latest iOS 12 mobile operating system to inform us about its adoption among iPhone and iPad users.

On October 10, 2018, Apple published the first statistics about the adoption of its iOS 12 mobile operating system on supported iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch devices, stating that more than half already run the latest software version. More precisely, iOS 12 ran on 53% of all devices introduced in the last four years, and on 50% of all devices.

The company's App Store support page saw an update on October 29, showing us new, exciting iOS 12 adoption numbers. According to the support site, 63% of devices introduced in the last four years are now using the iOS 12 mobile OS, while 60% of all devices run iOS 12. Meanwhile, about 30% of all devices are still using iOS 11.

These statistics were measured by the App Store on October 29, 2018, based on the iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch devices introduced since September 2014 that were signed into the App Store during the respective period. The chart also shows that about 7% of all devices are using an older version of iOS.

iOS 12.1 is now available to boost the adoption

Since these statistics do not include any data about the recently released iOS 12.1 software update, which was released by Apple on October 30, 2018, after the event where the tech giant unveiled new iPad Pro, MacBook Air, and Mac Mini models, we believe the iOS 12 adoption is already at new hights.

iOS 12.1 will definitely boost the adoption of Apple's iOS 12 mobile operating system among iPhone and iPad users since it introduces 70 new emoji characters, the long-anticipated group FaceTime feature that lets you video chat with up to 32 people at once, Depth Control in Camera, and dual-SIM support on newer iPhone models.
